Solid-phase spectrophotometry has been applied to analysis for trace amounts of vanadium. Vanadium was sorbed in a styrene-divinylbenzene-type anion-exchanger Dowex 1-X8 as a vanadium-4-(2-pyridylazo)resorcinol complex.
